Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift United Rotary Brush is an Olathe, Kansas based manufacturer of specialty industrial brushes for the airport, road construction, street sweeping and plow industries. Our Olathe, KS, manufacturing facility (I-35 & Old 56 Hwy) is looking for a Maintenance Technician to work on the 2nd shift. Those that desire to help drive a safe, quality focused, production environment will thrive at United Rotary Brush Corporation. $1000 available in Bonuses* 2nd shift Monday - Thursday 4:20 pm - 2:50 am (training on 1st shift)JOB SUMMARYThis manufacturing position will perform a wide variety of maintenance duties including inspections, replacements, alignment, balancing, installation, refurbishment, and machine operation. The position will maintain mechanical equipment, electric controls and fluid. Must have the ability to think in abstract terms, solve complex problems, and apply troubleshooting skills.DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPerform basic to advanced troubleshooting of equipment mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and controls issues.Perform daily TPM duties.Interpret and apply technical codes.Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment is generally classified as mechanical power transmission including gearboxes/drives, transmissions, conveyors, and rollers.Install, maintain, rebuild, replace, and troubleshoot centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic (vacuum) systems including air compressors and air handling units.Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems.Maintain and repair extruders.Maintain, repair, and replace fans and blowers including airlocks (rotary valves).Must have basic knowledge of plastics processing equipment including extruders, pullers, cutters, chillers and related plumbing.Must have electrical knowledge including high voltage, fuses, VFD, relays and switches and controls. PLC would be an asset but not required.Must have good knowledge of bearing types (applications and the limitations) including installation methods.Must have good knowledge of hydraulic presses and systems.Machine shop experience including lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, etc.is a plus.Welding experience -MIG and TIG is a plus.Able to read mechanical drawings and knowledge of CAD would be an asset. QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED. A minimum of 2 years full-time maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing facility.Qualified applicants must possess a two-year technical degree in a related field.Manufacturing experience preferred. *Note: A $500.00 retention bonus will be paid to those eligible participants who are hired while the program is in effect and attain 3 months of continuous employment with United Rotary Brush in their current qualified position. Eligible participants who are hired while the program is in effect and attain 6 months of continuous employment in their current qualified position will receive another $500.00 bonus.
