Overview

We are seeking a full-time Technician Apprentice l ocated in our Olathe, KS office . In this role, you will be responsible for basic application of electronic theory, electrical testing procedures and related knowledge to lay-out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and electronic equipment .

Essential Functions

• Help trace circuits of defective units, using knowledge of electronic theory and electronic test equipment to locate to the component level
• Discuss layout and assembly problems with Electronics technicians and draw sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units
• Assemble experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype model according to engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronic systems and components and their functions
• Analyze and recommend basic changes in circuitry or installation specifications to improve assembly, maintenance, test method or product performance
• Set up standard test apparatus or contrive test equipment and circuitry and conduct functional, operational, environmental and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production products
• Analyze and interpret test data and adjust, calibrate, align and modify circuitry and components and record effects on unit performance
• Record test/alignment procedures and results, defects, repair history, numerical and graphical data and evaluate equipment and processes to ensure associate safety
• Must possess the ability to lift up to 25 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
• Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin`s Attendance Policy)
• Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements
  Basic Qualifications
  
  • Pursuing an Associate`s Degree in Electronics Technology OR Vocational Certificate in Electronics Technology or related field
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Must demonstrate the ability to handle component level troubleshooting tasks
  • Requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
    Desired Qualifications
    
    • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
    • Previous electronics troubleshooting experience
