Description:Full Job Description Machine TechnicianThe Machine Technician is responsible for troubleshooting issues including mechanical, electrical, robotic and PLC and returning the equipment to working order as quickly as possible. You will also have responsibility to help install machines at Customer locations. Must be able to read and understand written and verbal work orders, follow detailed instruction, and communicate questions and suggestions. Requires hand/finger dexterity; visual acuity; ability to lift and carry materials; ability to bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach overhead, crawl, and climb. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB TASKS:Provide onsite technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment in a reasonable amount of time. Maintains organization, cleanliness, and safety in work areas.Complete a variety of tasks related to repair of machines, including plumbing, electrical and robotics.Use common tools including but not limited to hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, drills, and wrenches, precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices.Ensures safe operation of machinery, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, equipment and components, following blueprints and schematics, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.Troubleshoots sources of equipment problems and provides technical support on automated equipment such as CNC and robotic systems. Must be able to troubleshoot using the machines ladder logic.Inspects, cleans, and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of location equipment per work procedures or technical manual.Handles other delegated tasks assigned.Full knowledge and understanding of the Customers safety rules, policies, and practices prior to performing assigned job duties.Continually expand knowledge base on maintenance practices, procedures, and technologiesResponsible only for own work.Complete work assignments with minimum supervision. Retrieve and respond to messages daily on all communication tools.Consistently make travel arrangements within company policy guidelines and in the most cost effective and time efficient manner possible. Keep service team members and customers informed of arrival times. Install and/or repair new or modified equipment according to specifications at customer facilities in a timely manner to ensure full functionality. Upon completion of installationConduct training for customers on the safe operations of equipment, maintenance, and parts ordering. Provide contact information for service team for future service needs and parts needs. Ensure customers are comfortable with operational and safety procedures of their equipment.Complete service documentation on what was repaired during the service call and submit related expenses for the trip and time spent on the call. Reports are complete, accurate, and submitted within 24 hours of job completion. Weekly expense reports and time sheets are also completed in an accurate and timely manner. All expenses incurred are handled in a cost-effective manner.ESSENTIAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential responsibilities and job tasks satisfactorily. Must be competent in the use of machine drawings and schematic materials. Understand machine tool geometrics and alignments.Ability to interact with all areas of production and to work as a team with all internal departments to identify and solve problems.Must be self-motivated. Ability to work with little Supervision.Honesty, integrity, quality craftmanship and good attitude.An understanding of electrical control systems and control logic platforms. Must be familiar with Fanuc Control Systems.Need a very good knowledge in electrical wiring and troubleshooting.Ability to work successfully with computers and software.Ability to multitask and communicate effectively.Professional approach and Customer service oriented.Must have the ability to respond and adjust to changing or new situations. Work well in high stress environments and maintain professionalism in dealing with customers and coworkers. Needs to be a self-starter and have the ability to work in unsupervised settings.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High school education or the equivalent; required.Minimum of three years experience working in a maintenance role within the manufacturing industry. Requires a minimum of 3 years of documented experience in electrical/electronics as well as a diversified experience in hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems.Proven experience working on electrical components, to include production machines (CNC Mills and Lathes).Journeymans License (Preferred)Completion of formal technical training in electrical/electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift 50 lbs.Ability to stand, sit, kneel, squat, climb (use of ladders) for extended periods of time. This could consist of (40% standing, 20% sitting, 20% climbing, 20% kneeling/squatting/laying in non-routine positions) throughout the shift on a daily basisAbility to work long shifts (up to 12 hours per shift in a 24-hour period)Ability to perform in varying temperatures.Ability to perform in dusty environments with use of PPE as needed.Hand dexterity for prolonged use of hand toolsSchedule needs to be flexible to accommodate internal and external customers schedules. Must be willing to work outside normal business hours including some weekends as required. Provide after-hours support as needed.
