Commissions Analyst Position SummaryThis role is responsible for ensuring that our revenue is accurately received and recorded; as well as confirming that commissions to agents and internal sales are accurate. Analyzing the data and correcting mismatches is critical. This person will provide coaching, education, resolve issues and serve as the link between the commission department and upper management. As new carriers are onboarding it is this specialist's responsibility to review the carrier nuances to make sure all the needs of commissions are met prior to the receipt or release of funds. This specialist will need to delegate workloads as well for new projects.
Commissions Analyst Essential Duties and Responsibilities-- Review incoming revenue to make sure that recorded and reported accurately-- Research any mismatches of revenue and take corrective measures-- Set daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals and deadlines that comply with company standards-- Organize workflow and understand their duties or delegated tasks while maintaining lean process design-- Create and maintain the proper commission and accounting procedures-- Field and answer commission related questions that come from our agents-- Evaluate current workload and work with management to allocate resources for new project assignments-- Receive complaints and resolve problems, or in the appropriate circumstances bring the information to upper management-- Help train any new employees brought into the Commissions Department-- Perform other duties as assigned
Commissions Analyst Qualifications-- Business administration or accounting degree; or equivalent experience-- 5+ years Accounting experience-- Operational and analytical skills to research and develop proposed solutions, evaluating and documenting alternatives-- Drive change management-- Strong written and verbal communication skills-- Strong ability to evaluate and assign work functions-- Ensure that the department is achieving their established performance goals-- Ability to identify processes and improve upon them-- Ability to prioritize duties and requests-- Some travel (
Commissions Analyst Physical and Environmental Demands:-- Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus-- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear-- Frequently required to stand, sit for long periods of time, and reach with hand and arms-- Possess the ability to fulfill any office activities normally expected in an office setting, to include, but not limited to: remaining seated for periods of time to perform computer based work, participating in filing activity, lifting and carrying office supplies (paper reams, mail, etc.)-- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds-- Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding)-- The noise level in the work environment is usually low
