Job Summary: We welcome you to join the Surgery Team as a Supply
Equipment Coordinator. - You will be responsible for maintaining
necessary instruments and equipment within the surgery department
for surgical procedures. He/she works closely with materials
management for ordering of supplies and facilitating budget goals
and cost containment. Minimum Requirements:
- High School or GED Minimum
- Other: Previous Surgery experience required, Surgery Scrub
experience preferred Minimum
- American Heart Association CPR BLS Minimum 7 Days Key
Responsibilities:
- Staff Liaison:
- Troubleshoots equipment and instruments for OR staff
- -Coordinates inservices on new equipment and inservices for OR
staff
- Instrument Management
- --- - -Ensures availability of instruments for surgical
procedures
- --- - -Anticipates instrument needs for volume and types of OR
cases
- --- - -Contact person for instruments that need ordered or
repair
- --- - -Coordinates with the Supervisor of Surgery Materials to
purchase needed instruments
- --- - -Coordinates trials of new instruments with the OR staff
and surgeons
- Equipment Management
- Ensures availability of equipment for surgical procedures
- Anticipates equipment needs for volume and type of OR
cases
- Contact person for equipment that need ordered or repair
- Coordinates with the Supervisor of Surgery Materials to
purchase needed equipment
- Anticipates needed Capital Equipment Requests
- Coordinates with Biomed for repair and update on repaired
equipment
- Coordinates with Biomed for new equipment brought to the
OR
- Coordinates trials of new equipment with the OR staff and
surgeons
- Acts as liaison between CS and OR
- --- - -Provides necessary information to CS to maintain
instruments/instrument set properly
- --- - -Coordinates utilization of instruments/equipment needed
