Job Description:
Job Summary:
Responsible for the scheduling and cancellation of all outpatient
procedures. These services include but not limited to: radiology,
laboratory, cardiopulmonary, Sleep Disorder Center, Rehab service,
Outpatient Services, dietitian and coordinating times with the deaf
interpreter. This position also makes outbound calls to get
patients on the schedule and assists with the management of orders,
in a variety of ways.
Minimum Requirements:
--- High School Diploma or GED -
--- Previous Healthcare Experience, Computer Systems (specify)Data
Entry, Scheduling software, Customer Relations - Assisting
physician offices and patients with their scheduling needs, Medical
Terminology - Familiar with spelling of diagnosis and terminology
to schedule task appropriately, Operate Office Equipment - -Copier,
Fax, Computer system, multi-line telephone, Organizational -
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work flow, Verbal
Communication - professional telephone etiquette dealing with
patients, physician offices and department members -
Key Responsibilities:
--- Follows instructions and abides by organizational and
departmental policies and procedures to help the department and
organization consistently meet the goals established by management
or the Board of Directors.
--- Respond promptly, accurately, and courteously to all written
and phone inquiries received internally, from patients, attorneys,
insurance companies, physician offices, etc. as applicable to the
specific position.
--- Consistently recognizes what needs to be done first and takes
the initiative to perform the task whenever possible while also
recognizing situations that need to be reported to the appropriate
management staff.
--- Consistently demonstrates reliability by reporting to work on
time, working assigned shift, complying with lunch and break
allowances per departmental policy and staffing needs.
--- Consistently provides advanced notification for scheduled PTO,
and limits unscheduled absences by attending to personal affairs
outside work times whenever possible to avoid productivity or other
conflicts.
