Job Description:
Overview
We are looking for a full-time Rework Operator (1st Shift) for our
headquarters in the greater Kansas City area.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for working in one or more
vital areas of Customer Repair to maintain Customer Unit compliance
in Receiving, Shipping and Repair. Other essential functions
include:
* Receiving product onto the Customer Repair system
* This includes sorting and opening customer product
* Receiving units into Oracle and MS Access
* Operate standard test equipment and conduct functional,
operational and environmental tests on products
* Exchange of consumer and marine products
* Transferring customer data and corresponding with the customer
through a typed Service Report
* Shipping Product
* This includes weighing, packaging and boxing product
* Processing units into Kewill database
* Rework and Repair of Taiwan product
* This includes testing, board level replacement and minor
component repair
* Performing Engineering Change Orders
* Packaging the units per the Bill of Material
* Record information to pass along results of testing
* Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin's Attendance Policy)
* Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation)

* Remanufacture Product
* Inspect product to determine stocking level
* Upload latest software(s) to unit
* Test units to ensure functionality
* Requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds while using safe
lifting techniques
Other responsibilities include:
* Perform other work-related duties as assigned
* Evaluate equipment and processes to ensure personnel safety
Due to the level of training necessary to be successful in this
position, successfully hired associates are not eligible for job
transfer for a minimum of one year from their date of hire.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates possess a High school diploma or equivalent.
Other requirements include:
* High degree of dexterity and eye coordination to allow
manipulation of buttons, switches, hand tools and knobs on delicate
equipment, products and parts, in the performance of essential
functions
* Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills to
provide for respectful work related communication (in person and
through email) with peers and associates from other departments
* Associates operating machinery must have a mechanical aptitude
with an attention to detail
* Ability to communicate
* Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 30 pounds
while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift
and walking long distances throughout the facility.
* Ability to sit, stand, look down, bend, twist, and have dexterity
with hands for up to 10 hours
* Must have basic computer operational skills
* Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance
vision, and ability to adjust focus
* Must be flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment
* Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
* 1 year data entry experience or equivalent
Electronics training or work experience, 2+ years soldering
experience, 6+ months previous computer experience, ability to type
35 WPM, and the ability to speak and understand foreign languages
is highly preferred!
