is a hybrid position, 2-3 days a week in the office!The Payroll
Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely preparation and
payment of company payroll. As a part of the accounting team, the
Payroll Specialist will provide friendly customer service to all
employees and use problem solving skills to resolve any
issues.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe job duties of the
Payroll Specialist include, but are not limited to:Maintain all
payroll records, reports and audits; works closely with internal
and external auditors to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws
and government regulationsKnowledgeable of processing each
division's payroll and able to assist during staff shortage or
growth of organizationEnsures all timesheets are submitted in
compliance with policy, contract, state and regulatory
requirementsProcess bi-weekly payroll in a timely and accurate
manner utilizing time and pay reporting systems.Reviews, audits and
balances payroll prior to transmission to ensure time and
deductions are entered accuratelyReviews computed wages and
corrects any errors to ensure the accuracy of earningsReview
payroll taxes and verifying accuracy by state and city if
applicableMaintains positive working relationships with co-workers,
accounting teams and business unitsProvide friendly customer
service to employees with payroll questions or
issuesTroubleshooting payroll issues within multiple business
unitsProcessing garnishments and assuring they are withheld and
paid timelyAssure that all legally required taxes are correctly
setup, withheld and paid in a timely and accurate manner and
reconciled accordinglyMaintains client confidence and protects
operations by keeping information confidentialPerforms other duties
and special projects as requested by Payroll ManagerPrepare Month
End reports per close deadlines Education Associate degree or
combination of work experience and education ExperienceMinimum 1-3
years of payroll experiencePreferred Experience/SkillsKnowledge of
multi-state taxation is preferredExperience using UltiPro payroll
reporting system is preferredProficient in and ExcelStrong
Analytical skills to define problems, identify solutions and to
implement changes.Must be comfortable working with all levels of
business personnel.Ability to promote and drive an environment of
continuous improvement.Ability to work with confidential
