The nurse will work in an acute in-patient behavioral health setting. Ratios for patient care are 1:12 during days and nights. Every candidate must have at least 2 years of experience, including experience in a 1:12 patient ratio environment. First-time travelers are accepted. The nurse is required to work shifts that include every Sunday night, every Friday night, or every other Friday night. Floating between departments is not required. Certifications must be current and include MANDT, Trauma-Informed Care, Zero Suicide Training, and BLS. Preferred skills include experience in various treatment settings such as child and adolescent care, eating disorders, forensic, inpatient, outpatient, and substance use treatment. Experience caring for patients with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, eating disorders, PTSD, and self-injurious behavior is a plus. The nurse will be involved in medication administration and must be familiar with delivering medications via different methods. Candidates must be knowledgeable of emergency care protocols, including CPR and physical hold protocols. Legal aspects such as the use of seclusion and voluntary/involuntary commitment procedures are critical to this role. Therapeutic approaches should include behavior management techniques and crisis intervention. Strong communication skills for interpreting and conveying lab values are essential. Seclusion protocols and procedures must be practiced consistently. The position requires compliance with all time-sensitive processing protocols. Documentation must be completed promptly upon contract signing. The role requires individuals with a documented history of specialty experience within the past 12 months without gaps in employment exceeding 90 days. References from supervisory levels are required. Candidates must pass a drug screening process. Lab testing must be completed within a specified timeframe after signing the contract.
