Olathe Medical Center, Inc, a 300-bed general acute care facility, is currently looking for a Surgery Control Desk Coordinator professional to join our team.

Position Description:
The Surgery Control Desk Coordinator is responsible for patient flow in the Surgery and Outpatient Surgery Departments on a daily basis. He/she demonstrates timely and clear communication with departments, surgeons, anesthesia personnel, staff, and others. This position requires sound judgment and organizational skills, especially in critical situations. He/she provides direction regarding assignments, patient flow, case delays, add-on cases, and prioritization of workflow amongst staff. The Coordinator works closely with Pre-op and Post-op staff to coordinate patient readiness and staff availability to care for patients as they move through their peri-operative experience. The Coordinator will demonstrate leadership skills in decision-making and problem solving as well as excellent communication skills. He/she practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards and organizational / departmental policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:
Education:
2 Year / Associate Degree - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred

Experience:
3 - 5 Years of Operating Room experience required
Previous leadership experience / responsibilities preferred

License, Registration and/or Certification:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Licensure Compact required upon hire
Healthcare Provider CPR - (American Heart Association or American Red Cross ONLY) required within 7 days from date of hire
