Job Summary and Qualifications Preoperative nurses are responsible for ensuring that patients are prepared for surgery. They work closely with surgeons and other medical professionals to ensure that the patient is healthy enough for surgery, manage their pain during recovery, and help them through any complications that may arise after the procedure.Preoperative nurses also play an important role in helping patients prepare for their surgical procedures. This includes giving instructions on how to properly care for themselves before and after surgery, as well as providing information about what to expect during the procedure itself.What Qualifications You Will Need: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Current state of Missouri RN licensure required. Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required. BLS and ACLS certification required and maintained. Prior medical-surgical experience preferred.
