to join our system! - Olathe Medical Center, Inc, a 300-bed general
acute care facility, is recruiting now for New Graduate Nurse
Residents to join our team! Residency Program: - Formal orientation
-with a preceptor on a designated unit. - Formal education classes
(4 hours each month for one year) including online, in-class and
simulation. - Optional learning experiences in ancillary supportive
areas (Wound Care, Cath Lab, Pre-op/PACU, Respiratory Therapy).
-Mentorship after unit orientation. - All residents in the program
must have passed NCLEX and received Kansas RN licensure prior to
start. Day and Nights positions available. - Designated Units: ---
2E: -Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit specializing in abdominal and
urologic surgeries --- 2N/2S: -Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit
specializing in breast and gynecological surgeries --- 3E: -Acute
Telemetry/Neuro unit specializing in stroke and neurological
disorders --- 3N: -Acute Telemetry/Renal unit specializing in renal
impairment and dialysis --- 3S: -Progressive Care Unit (Step Down
for ICU) specializing in chest surgeries and DKA --- 4th Floor:
-Acute Telemetry unit specializing in cardiac procedures and
cardiac diagnoses --- 5E: -Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit
specializing in Orthopedics, Oncology, and Spinal surgeries ---
CCU: -Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit --- ECC: -Emergency
department Position Description: The Nurse Resident Registered
Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to coordinate the
interdisciplinary approach to patient care. -He/she provides safe,
therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. He/she
integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of
patients and families through the continuum of care. -The Nurse
Resident RN collaborates with others to integrate assessment and
input of the patient, family and the interdisciplinary team. The
Nurse Resident RN takes direction from his/her preceptor, manager,
educator and/or director and always maintains a culture of patient
safety and quality. He/she ensures improvements in practice
settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in
life-long learning. -Demonstrates leadership skills in
decision-making and problem solving. - The Nurse Resident RN
integrates and communicates knowledge and sensitivity to patient's
psychosocial, spiritual, cultural and age specific needs. -He/she
practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act,
specialty standards and organizational/departmental policies and
procedures. Position Requirements: Education: Minimum 2
Year/Associate Degree -Graduation from an accredited school of
nursing. Preferred: 4 Year/Bachelors Degree-BSN degree from an
accredited university Knowledge, Skills:Customer Relations,
Organizational-Skills, Verbal Communication, Critical
Thinking/Reasoning/Assessment skills , Ability to Multi Task and
prioritize - Required - License, Registration and/or Certification:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in accordance with the
Kansas Nurse Licensure Compact required upon hire Healthcare
Provider CPR - (American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ONLY) required within 7 days from date of hire *Two letters of
recommendation from a current Nursing Instructor are recommended at
