Job Description:
$5,000.00 sign-on bonus Job Summary: The Certified Respiratory
Therapist performs respiratory care interventions in accordance
with the standards established by the American Association of
Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines and OMC Respiratory
Care Policy. Under the supervision of the Director/Supervisor and
upon a physician's order, the Certified Respiratory Therapist
assesses the cardiopulmonary status of patients of all ages
(neonate through geriatric) and provides various types of
respiratory diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, based on
individual patient needs. An integral function of this position is
providing patient education to enhance wellness. Minimum
Requirements:
- Vocational / Technical Completion of an accredited Respiratory
Therapy Education Program in which graduates are accepted by the
National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as eligible for the CRT
credential Minimum
- 2 Year / Associate Degree Respiratory Therapy in an accredited
college or university Preferred
- Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program who has
obtained the CRT credential Preferred.
- 1 - 3 Years Working as a CRT in a hospital setting
Preferred
- Respiratory Therapy Licensure by the state of Kansas Minimum
Upon Hire
- Healthcare Provider CPR - (American Heart Association or
American Red Cross ONLY) Minimum Upon Hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by National Board of
Respiratory Care (NBRC) Minimum Upon Hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification or renewal
of expired NRP provider Minimum 120 Days Key Responsibilities:
- Able to assess complicated patient care scenarios including
subjective assessment and objective evaluation of a variety of data
made available from monitors and test results (Minimum
proficiency)
- Ability to execute responsibilities of Respiratory Care Charge
Therapist when assigned by Shift Supervisor. Includes assessing
shift workload staffing needs and making adjustments in real time,
as appropriate. (Minimum proficiency)
- Ability to provide expert respiratory assistance in
critical/emergent situations involving life support decisions and
actions.
- Able to assess complicated patient care scenarios including
