The Role
The Yard Manager is responsible for the overall yard and delivery
operations for assigned location.
Job duties:
Provide direct management to Yard
Coordination Supervisors and Yard Coordinators across assigned
territory. This includes the scheduling and daily tasks of the Yard
CoordinatorsCollaborate with management to develop operational
strategies, goals, budgets and operating cost controlsMonitor
employee compliance with both federal and company quality and
safety requirements, take immediate corrective actions when
non-compliance occursDevelop, implement and review current and new
yard policies and procedures to create consistency across the
organizationWork closely with other departments across the company
to establish and meet performance objectives and goalsEnsure the
accuracy and timely preparation, processing, and distribution of
all necessary operational reports and records. This includes;
audits of sales, rental assets, and attachments inventory, fuel
process reporting, etcManage shipping and receiving process.
Initiate resolutions and implement changes as neededIdentify yard
and equipment maintenance needs; initiate the repair process as
neededProvide customer support on product and machine operations
inquiresEnsure customers are trained on the safe operation of the
equipment and assist both the customers and delivery personnel with
loading and unloading of equipmentAssist with daily yard tasks as
neededOversee and direct the yard organization, maintenance and
upkeep at all facilitiesTravel is required for training and/or to
assist at other locations.Our Ideal Candidate:
Basic repair and diagnostic
experience with equipment is required3+ years management experience
or working in a construction/agriculture/automotive field is
requiredAbility to positively motivate, manage, and develop
employees Ability to effectively communicate with managers,
employees, and customers across multiple divisions Working
knowledge of Cat and Allied equipment and how equipment is
operatedExcellent multi-tasking and organizational skillsStrong
assertive and decisive decision-making skillsAbility to drive and
