Prior to this role, he served as Chief Executive Officer of TravelClick, where he drove the companys overall strategic vision and helped increased the companys value from approximately $300 million to more than $1.5 billion over eight years.The positionA Place for mom is looking for a highly self-motivated, experienced hands on QA Manager/Lead with strong QA fundamentals and prior programming or automation experience.As a SDET Manager/Lead, you will create and implement a strategy driving the quality of our products to a world class level while managing a team of Quality Assurance professionals. In addition to experience with building and leading successful test teams, we're looking for someone to drive quality through both software and process improvements and drive engineering excellence across multiple development teams.In this role, you will lead our QA efforts and maintain a high bar for quality for the applications we develop. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a proven track record building and managing internal and external teams distributed across multiple locations. Responsibilities The successful SDET Manager/Lead will be obsessed with quality improvement, experienced and highly committed to creating world class automation for regression and feature testing, able to develop and drive a high-level test and automation strategy, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy. In this role, you will:Lead a team of QA Engineers of multiple teams.Work with business and development teams to understand product vision and requirementsTake part in hiring and developing a Team of engineersUnderstand how all elements of the system software ecosystem work together and develop QA approaches that fit the overall strategyBe responsible for development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnessesOversee the development and execution of test plans and monitoring and reporting on test executionMust be delivery focused, with a strong willingness to perform all tasks required to complete the job and meet deadlines.Works with the teams QA engineers to discuss QA strategies throughout the development processes. Identifies systemic quality deficiencies.Advocates automated testing techniques from multiple perspectives, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.Work with support teams to triage and understand customer issues.Establish and maintain an overarching QA roadmap, with a goal of increasing efficiency and quality through tools, technology and strategic initiativesTrack ongoing project statuses and create weekly reportsVerify fixes are implemented correctly throughout the product cycle in both consumer and development environmentReport on metrics using data to guide action for your teamIdentify risks, impact, probability, and plan mitigationExperience in working in and with Agile (Scrum) teams as well as participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement and agile ceremoniesThe ability to work beyond the assignment and provide continuous innovation to tools and processesWork directly with Production and Development teams to track features and direct test plans for those featuresCollaborate with Production and Development on QA needs and risks to current and upcoming projectsAssist in onboarding and training of new team membersDirect internal testers and external vendors in daily and weekly tasksDefine test strategies, organize testing processes, improve test coverage through existing or new infrastructure, and perform exploratory testingWork with Product Management and Engineering team to ensure Quality is applied throughout the software development processSupport Product and Engineering by creating, investigating, and managing defect reports so that issues can be prioritized accordingly and fixed in a timely mannerBecome a subject matter expert on our internal applications, leading you to understand and explain how subtle changes can affect a complex application ecosystemSolid understanding and experience working with JIRA and other QA/development toolsAbility to manage multiple test cycles running in parallel across multiple channelsExperience managing multi-disciplinary teams of developers and testersPassionate about the customer experience, and what can be done to improve itExperience with CI/CD tools (e.G. github Actions)Experience with performance testing using open-source tools such as LoadRunner, JMeterHas experience and conviction around measures to quantify software qualityExperience with employee development, performance management, and delivering resultsProvide the product owner/manager with the right information to allow them to make data driven decisionsDevelop and continuously improve testing practices and strategies including functional, performance, regression and rollback testing scenarios, scripts or proceduresDevelop and nurture strong cross functional partnerships; driving business results and inspiring a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability. Qualifications 7 years of relevant testing experience, including knowledge of test methodologies, managing test plans, and managing test cases2 years of experience managing a team, comprised of individuals at different experience levelsExperience with any JS test automation frameworks (e.G., NodeJs /Cucumber/ WebdriverIO /Appium/Selenium/Cypress/Cucumber/Mocha/Protractor and willingness to learn new tools as necessary), WebdriverIO is preferred.Experience in Manual and automation testing of Web services (Rest, GraphQL) using API testing tools such as Postman, GraphQL Playground or similar toolsExperience with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)Well versed with concepts of Performance & Load Testing with JMeter and K6 is desirable.Nice to have CI experience to enable automated test execution with CI/CD toolsStrong ability to debug code, analyzes failures, and trace defects to the root cause.Comfortable working in a dynamic, low-structure, constantly changing atmosphere.
