Job Description Job Description Who are we? Jet Midwest is a full-service commercial aviation company, specializing in the sale and lease of commercial aircraft, engines, and parts as well as aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services to the aviation industry. Position Description: Title: Aviation Technician Summary: The Aviation Technician is directly responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and service of aircraft components, including but not limited to landing gear, flight controls, sheet metal structures, NDT and small part painting, as assigned. This position will perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, and adjustments of various aircraft systems and structures in compliance with technical specifications. Essential Duties & Responsibilities included, but not limited to: Inspect, repair, and overhaul aircraft components and systems as assigned in compliance with specifications and FAA regulations. Troubleshoot system and component malfunctions and perform necessary maintenance work or re-work using various tools and diagnostic devices. Remove and replace defective components Sheet metal inspection and repairs Composite/paint inspection and repairs Maintain all pertinent documentation – logbooks, 8130’s, and historical data as required Education & Experience: Airframe & Powerplant (A&P Certificate), preferred High School Diploma or GED equivalent Minimum experience of two (2) years in aircraft maintenance or component work preferred Working knowledge of Federal Air Regulations (FAR’s) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Willing and able to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays and weekends Possess the legal right to work in the United States Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Extensive knowledge of aircraft accessories, components and other hardware. Basic Math and Measurement Skills Mechanical Experience, Preferred; own hand tools helpful Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis Benefits: Eligibility for our comprehensive benefits program starting the 1st of the month after 30 days of full-time employment Eligibility for our comprehensive benefits program starting the 1st of the month after 30 days of full-time employment 401K with company match Robust Paid Time Off 10 paid Holidays Growth opportunities Schedule: 8 hour shift Work Location: In person
