Description Job Summary SCA's High School Chemistry and AP
Chemistry Teacher will provide high-quality instruction in
secondary science while intentionally integrating biblical truth
with scientific understanding. They will support the mission of the
school by helping students grow academically, spiritually,
socially, and emotionally within a Christ-centered learning
environment. Spiritual Requirements Possess a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Demonstrate a mature
Christian lifestyle consistent with the school’s statement of faith
and biblical standards. Be an active member or regular attendee of
a Bible-believing church. Support the school’s philosophy of
Christian education and discipleship. Integrate biblical principles
and worldview into classroom instruction. Instructional
Responsibilities Teach high schooll Chemistry and AP Chemistry
courses in alignment with school curriculum standards and College
Board AP guidelines. Develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate
scientific inquiry, laboratory investigation, and critical
thinking. Prepare students for the AP Chemistry exam through
rigorous instruction and assessment. Maintain a safe and organized
laboratory environment, adhering to proper safety procedures.
Evaluate student progress through tests, lab reports, projects, and
other assessments. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse
learning needs of students. Faith Integration Demonstrate how
scientific discovery reflects God's order and creativity in
creation. Encourage students to examine scientific concepts through
a biblical worldview. Lead or participate in prayer, devotions, and
spiritual discussions as appropriate. Model Christian character
including integrity, humility, and compassion. Professional
Responsibilities Participate in faculty metings, professional
development, and school functions. Support school events such as
chapels and student activities. Collaborate with colleagues to
strengthen the Christian learning community. Assess and monitor
student progress, providing timely feedback and academic support.
Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student
performance. Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and
administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education,
or related field (Master’s preferred). Teaching experience in
secondary science, preferably including AP Chemistry. Ability to
obtain or maintain ACSI Teacher Certification. Strong classroom
management and organizational skills. Commitment to faith
integration in academic instruction. Physical and Work Environment
Classroom and laboratory instruction requiring supervision of
science experiments and equipment. Ability to manage laboratory
materials and maintain safety procedures.
