Job Description Job Description Minimum 1 years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A paraprofessional opportunity is available in Kansas City, MO, supporting students at an elementary school with significant cognitive, medical, adaptive, and behavioral needs. This contract position runs immediately through May 28th, Monday through Friday, from 8:25 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., within a Goals classroom dedicated to serving students requiring specialized assistance. Key Responsibilities: - Support students with cognitive and behavioral challenges, many with medical and adaptive care needs - Assist with toileting and personal care as needed, maintaining respect and dignity - Implement and support behavior interventions in collaboration with the education team - Provide consistent, compassionate support to promote student engagement and learning Qualifications and Experience: - Active paraprofessional certification or active substitute certification required - Experience working with students with behavioral challenges preferred, with comfort addressing toileting and medical needs - Ability to comply with district requirements, including background prints and drug screening within the initial days of employment - Previous experience in a special education setting is advantageous Location: - North Kansas City, Missouri Interview Process: - Initial prescreen phone call (5-10 minutes) - Zoom interview with the district Special Education director (approximately 15 minutes) This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a supportive educational environment serving students with complex needs.
