history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Sr.
Principal Military Trainer - Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) Planner
to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort
Leavenworth, in Kansas. The selected candidate will join our
Mission Command Training Program (MCTP), which trains Army Corps,
Divisions, and Brigades in the Army Mission Command Systems and
Operations Process. The Principal Military Trainer leverages
specialized expertise in planning and executing some or all phases
of military training exercises, including doctrinal development,
scenario development, and After-Action Reviews (AAR). This is done
through an integrated simulation to replicate a robust Operating
Environment (OE). Units conduct exercises in Large Scale Combat
Operations (LSCO) with all appropriate operational variables that
would be present in a theater of operations to develop efficiency
in the operations process.The World Class Opposing Forces (WCOPFOR)
team plans, prepares, and executes five Division and/or CORPS level
exercises per year. During planning, the WCOPFOR uses the Military
Decision-Making Process (MDMP) to produce a competitive CORPS level
Operations Order. In the preparation, the WCOPFOR will brief the
Competitive Operations Order to the Observer Coach / Trainers
(OC/T) of the other Operations Groups, and our Part Time employees
that will conduct the exercise. In the execution, the WCOPFOR will
use the Operations Order to prosecute the war-fighting
exercise.WCOPFOR Responsibilities:Conduct mission analysis of
higher headquarters guidance (CSA, FORSCOM, CAC)Produce a CORPS
level Operations OrderCoordinate and synchronizing warfighting
functions in all plans and ordersDevelop plans, orders, branches,
and sequelsWrite Competitive orders for each respective Warfighter
ExerciseDuties & Responsibilities:Acts as primary MDO Planner /
advisor to the WCOPFOR Commander as part of the Special
StaffParticipate in the planning, preparation, execution
processOperationally apply current Army and Joint Doctrine to
develop War-fighting Functions (WfF) appropriate concepts for
respective exercisesSupport the writing of WfFs Annexes at the
Corps and Land Component level to direct operations based on the
developed conceptIntegrate additional WfF personnel as required to
facilitate planning and executionDevelop and present appropriate
training to inform exercise support staff (MCTP, HICOM, Exercise
Control Group) about the WCOPFOR Scheme of ManeuverCoordinate with
adjacent divisions, Operations Groups, and organizations as
directedAttend weekly Exercise Planning Team (EPT) meetings as
required for respective exercises to facilitate common
understandingBasic Qualifications:One of the following:High school
diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years of professional and/or
military leadership experienceBachelor's degree with a minimum of
10 years of professional and/or military leadership
experienceMaster's degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional
and/or military leadership experienceDemonstrated experience in
Electronic Warfare, Cyberspace and/or Space OperationsProficient
with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel,
Access)Must currently possess a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)
Top Secret security clearanceMust be able to work on-site at Fort
Leavenworth in KansasMay be required to travel for planning
conferences (up to 10% of the time)Must be able to deploy to
various countries, as required, in support of U.S. military
operationsPreferred Qualifications:U.S. Army Command and General
Staff Officer Course, or Military Education Level 4 (MEL 4)
equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE)Salary Range: $84,100
USD $126,100 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus
in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
