Description The City of Olathe's Solid Waste Division is actively seeking individuals with a Class B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement to assist our team on a seasonal basis. -As a Seasonal Solid Waste Collection Operator, you will assist with the collection of refuse, recyclables, yard waste, and bulk waste throughout the City by driving assigned routes and transporting loads to our transfer station or other approved facility. Key Responsibilities Seasonal employees can work up to six months for the City of Olathe. -Seasonal employees provide supplemental help to our crews during seasonal peaks and busy times.As a Seasonal Solid Waste Collection Operator you will:

• Conduct pre-operation inspection of assigned diesel or CNG vehicle to evaluate proper working condition
• Complete your daily route assignment
• Transport refuse to the Solid Waste Transfer Station or other approved facility as directed
• Use a combination of electric controls and a joystick to pick up and empty carts
• Get in and out of vehicle as needed
• Keep assigned vehicle clean inside and outside
• Make minor repairs and adjustments to vehicle when required; coordinate with supervisor for proper maintenance to be performed
• Complete daily reports, documentation, and correspondence
• Work with supervisor to ensure customer service requests are resolved
• Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner
• Resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner
• Assist in completing other routes as neededWe offer our Seasonal Solid Waste Collection Operators:
